About the Role
We’re looking for part‑time Sales Associates who deliver outstanding customer service and drive strong sales in a lively retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers promptly, acknowledging them immediately and handling multiple customers efficiently.
- Understand and meet customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations.
- Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
- Promote store events and promotions to enhance the shopping experience and drive sales.
- Resolve customer concerns, offering alternative solutions and turning returns into exchanges when possible.
- Communicate merchandising and service needs to management in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives.
Qualifications
- At least 16 years old.
- Open to a flexible schedule, including day, evening, weekend, overnight, and travel as required.
- Comfortable with or able to learn technology such as cash registers and handheld or mobile devices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage customers courteously and professionally.
- Basic information‑gathering skills for problem solving.
- Willingness to learn procedural knowledge through on‑the‑job training.
Essential Job Functions
- Frequently operate a cash register.
- Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove items up to a height of 5‑10 feet.
- Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and store stock.
- Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and sales floor.
- Frequently communicate with customers on the telephone and face‑to‑face, as well as with managers and coworkers, exchanging accurate information.
- Frequently move across the sales floor to assist customers and to retrieve and put away merchandise from the stock room.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time.
- Must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures.
