Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Chennai. The Business Development Manager will identify and qualify new business opportunities, build a strong pipeline of prospective institutional and B2C customers, and drive end-to-end sales cycles from lead generation to closing. Responsibilities include conducting market research, reaching out to prospects via calls, emails, and meetings, delivering compelling product presentations and demos, and promoting NxtWave’s programs and certifications to decision-makers and learners. The role involves building and maintaining long-term relationships with partners, colleges, training institutes, and corporate stakeholders, as well as collaborating with marketing and product teams to refine offerings and messaging. The Business Development Manager will track performance metrics, prepare sales reports and forecasts, and continuously optimize strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
Qualifications
- Strong sales and business development skills, including lead generation, pipeline management, and relationship building with institutional and individual customers.
- Proven ability in consultative selling, needs analysis, solution presentation, and closing deals in a target-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders such as students, educators, and corporate partners.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.
- Comfort with data-driven decision-making, including tracking KPIs, preparing reports, and using CRM or sales tools.
- Understanding of or interest in EdTech, technology education, and 4.0 technologies (e.g., AI, ML, Full Stack, Cybersecurity, IoT, VR/AR, Blockchain).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in EdTech, education, training, or technology sectors.
